Our story
Founded in 1995 at Akim Adwafo, Eastern Region, Ghana. Growing across four countries.
The beginning
The Apostolic Faith Mission International — affectionately known as Gilgal — was founded by Apostle General Dr. Degraft Osei Kwame in 1995. What began as a small gathering driven by a passion for prayer and holiness has grown into an international ministry.
The Gilgal Omuni prayer fellowship in Accra became a beacon of hope, drawing multitudes who sought healing, deliverance and a genuine encounter with the living God. It is known for an uncompromising commitment to prayer and ministry to the sick.
Today the ministry spans about 52 branches across Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire (including Bouaké), the United Kingdom and the United States. The Annual Easter Convention — resumed in 2024 at Wesley Grammar School, Dansoman, under the theme “Divine Glory” — remains one of its most powerful gatherings. In 2025 a church was commissioned in Bouaké, and the Apostle General was honoured at the Sankofa National Prestige Honours in Accra.
